The townhouse in which our hotel was built has a long tradition. The owner - Mr. Adolf Liebeskind - received a building permit in 1907, and the resulting building has survived to the present day.
TESTIMONY OF HERITAGE AND HEROISM IN THE HEART OF KRAKOW
Adolf Liebeskind, alias “Dolek,” was mainly known for his involvement in underground activities during World War II. He headed the Jewish Combat Organization (ŻOB) in Cracow, which took up arms against the Germans in cooperation with the Poles. He participated in many combat actions. He was shot by the Gestapo during an arrest attempt on December 24, 1942.
.“Dolek Liebeskind was not only a great man, but also a great humanist. You could talk to him about anything, and even confide in him about your private affairs." Among others, Jozef Grzesiak “Czarny” - a soldier of the Home Army and the Grey Regiments - lived in Liebeskind's tenement.
